Kelly
Jack Kelly started
dancing since the age of 6, studying nearly every form of
dance from Ballet to Russian Folk Dancing, modern to martial
arts. He was first introduced to Swing dancing in ’94
after watching Swing Kids and the Mask. Founder of the Swingcat
Society at GSU in 1998, Jack has been runing successful swing
nights and workshops since then. Proficient at Balboa, Charleston,
Collegiate Shag, Savoy and Hollywood Style Lindy Hop, Boogie
Woogie (aka Rock & Roll), and East Coast Swing, he has
taught swing dance classes and workshops at UNCC, UNCW, GSU,
and CPCC. He worked as the dance consultant for Leatherheads,
teaching the extras to dance the dances of 1925. He has taken
workshops and studied under Frankie Manning, Erik and Sylvia,
Ryan and Jenny, Marcus and Barbl, and many other legends in
the swing dance community. If his knowledge of swing both
past and present doesn’t arouse you, his enthusiasm
surely will. |
